Solution for the Gmail/WebKit issue causing crashes
Monday, January 11, 2010
A recent Gmail update crashes Mailplane, Safari, and other WebKit based applications. The Gmail help forum has a couple of threads concerning this problem and it is now listed on the Gmail known issues page. Not all Gmail accounts seem to be affected, but those who are, experience a duplicating chat box that lead to a crash.
Solution: If you affected by this Gmail bug, consider using the 2.1.3 preview version. It contains the latest WebKit nightly build, which solves the issue.

Define as many signatures as you want. Each signature can be formatted and linked to an image. If you have multiple “from” addresses, Mailplane will insert the matching signature. Learn how to setup your first signature.
Insert images into message text
Attachments are great, but wouldn’t it be nice to insert images into the message text? With the “Inserting Images” Gmail lab feature you now can. And Mailplane adds image 'drag and drop' and screenshots to the lab feature. Learn how to setup and use the feature.
Offline Gmail
Mailplane now supports the Gmail Offline lab feature. Take your Gmail offline to read, answer and compose emails when you are disconnected from the internet. Learn more.

Enhanced License: Use Mailplane on all your Macs
Until recently, a Mailplane single user license was limited to two Macs. Because many users needed Mailplane on more Macs, I've decided to lift this limitation:
- Single-user license: Install on all Macs you personally use. Use it at home, school, work: just anywhere. Limitation: Make sure you're the only user. Please do not share your license with anyone else.
- Family license: Allow up to five (5) family members living in the same household to use Mailplane on their Macs. As with the single user license, there is no machine limitation for any of the five users.
- Site license: For a number of users working at the same organization. Again, each user may use it anywhere.
This improved license applies to all registered users! You don't need to re-install or re-download anything.
Tip: If you need to upgrade your license (say from "single user" to "family"), check out the new upgrade page.

Mailplane is ready for Snow Leopard
Thursday, August 27, 2009
Tomorrow is "Snow Leopard" day! Both Mailplane versions (stable and beta) are ready for the new and shiny OS release.
Mailplane has been tested on the most recent Snow Leopard developer preview version. However, tomorrow's final release may still have a few "surprises" for Maiplane. In case you get stuck, here are a few troubleshooting tips:
- Make sure you have the very latest Mailplane version. (Important: Mailplane 1.x isn't supported anymore and won't work with Snow Leopard).
- If you have Google Gears and you get a blank main screen instead of your inbox, please upgrade Google Gears or uninstall Google Gears. Update (08/29): So far Google hasn't upgraded Google Gears for Safari - please uninstall Google Gears for now and watch this page for the version.
- Maybe an incompatible InputManager is the culprit? To find out: Disable all InputManagers by renaming this folder: /Library/InputManagers. Restart Mailplane to apply the change. When your done testing, rename the folder back to /Library/InputManagers.
- To find out if it is a general problem or Mailplane bug, please open https://mail.google.com/mail inside Safari (not Firefox).
For more information visit the support section or send me a message.
