Hi Sarah, thanks for you feedback and for supporting Mailplane!

Hi Ruben,
So I bought the license, all thanks to you :)
Like Sarah, and many others, MailPlane is my fav email app on my new Mac.
Looking forward to the new cutting edge release in the pipeline too.
Thanks

I really like Mailplane and will probably buy it. I noticed when I switched over to Gmail 2.0 using Mailplane, my contacts would not show. I first noticed it when I tried to type a contact and it would not complete (I know, known issue). Then I went to my Contacts link, and there was nothing there so I could not select a contact either. Is that related to the AutoComplete problem? This will be a dealbreaker to purchase for me, if it cannot be resolved. Other than that, I love the software. I would assume that multiple acct setup is a paid benefit, is that correct?

OK, nix the no contacts at all comment. I let it sit for a while longer and all of my contacts came in.

@Preshit:Thanks!
@Michael:
This is known Gmail/Google problem, see the known issue page:
http://mail.google.com/support/bin/static.py?page=known_issues.cs
Workarounds are:
- Compose message in a new window by using Cmd-Shift-N
- Switch to Gmail 1.0 (Older version link)

I’m still having lots of problems with the address auto-complete as well. Hopefully that’ll be worked out soon.

Sweet app! I am having trouble getting the snippet function to work. I can type text in the text box, but I have no way to save it. Perhaps I am doing something wrong?
I am definitely going to buy this app. VERY useful.
Do you think it will ever be possible to insert photos in the message box, much like in Mac mail? How come when we send a message (with inline photos) using Mail, the photo formatting of the message carries over when viewing the message thru gmail’s interface, but we can’t put inline photos directly? Did my question make any sense??
:)
Merry Christmas!

Hi Patrick,
Many thanks for your feedback.
TextSnippets: Which version are you using? I tried 1.60.1 it worked. 1.70.4 seem to have a display problem (identifiers are not shown). I’ll fix it.
Inline photos: This is how Gmail works :) Rich text messages are HTML pieces and can contain nearly everything. Pictures that are shown inline are either located on a remote server or are attached to the message and then referenced from the message body.
Hope this helps.
I wish you a Merry Christmas, too!

Ruben,
I am using 1.70.4. Thanks for the information re: inline photos!

Ruben, don’t know if you can help me but often when I write a message the text size changes to “smal” or what ever you call it. I write a line (normal) then do a line break then the text size is changed. I HATE when it does that. Is there some fix or is this only happening to me?
Regards, manne

Hi Manne,
Yes, this is indeed annoying. I have reported this bug to the WebKit team: http://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15621
As a workaround go to the Tweak UI preferences and set the Gmail text size to 100%.
Hope this helps.

Ruben, thank you.
Will try out the workaround.
Hope they fix the annoying problem.
Regards,
manne

Is anyone having any problem with attachments in Mailplane? Specifically, Mailplane (or Gmail) fails to prep the attachments for mailing. I just get the spinning beachball, and eventually an error saying something like my request couldn’t be completed. Anyone else see this behavior?
Posted by Ruben (12/28 at 02:44 PM)
Hi Ed,
Thanks for your problem report.
Do you have more information about the message box? Is it an Oops-Gmail message? Which Mailplane/Gmail versions do you use?
BTW: There is a nice Google groups to get in touch with other Mailplane users:

Hi Ruben,
I’ll check out the Google group ... to answer your question, I get the following error message about 90% of the time when I try to add an attachment to email prepared with Mailplane. I do not experience the error when using Gmail via a web browser:
Oops… a server error occurred and your email was not saved. (#001)
I’m using Mailplane, v1.70.4. And it doesn’t matter whether I click on the “Older Version” or “Newer Version” tab.
Best,
Ed P.

It’d be great if there were an easier way to change accounts. A key combo to cycle through or a menu item with a list of them. Opening the accounts drawer each time is kind of a pain.

Hi
I have been using mailplane for 4 month or so, and it is strangely less goos since last week, it doent chek my mails very well, so
I am going to quit since you charge for it now
Hope we can meet in the free software universe one day.
Happy new year

Hi Pierre,
The refreshing problem happens only in the “cutting edge” release with Gmail 2. I am currently working on the solution. Turn off Gmail 2 support in Advanced preferences as a workaround.
You still have 30 days left for evaluation.
Good luck!

@Jason: Thanks!
@Ed: Please try the Gmail trouble shooter, located here: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/static.py?page=troubleshooter.cs&problem=bugflow&selected=bugflow_send16
Could you try sending the same attachment in Safari 3? Does it work?
@Jeff: Thanks for the suggestion - have you tried the “menu bar item” to switch accounts?

Hi rubben
I just unchecked the cutting edge stuff, It is funny, I have now 2 mailPlane , one buggy, and one good
By the way, The 2 very good features of your soft are the screenshot and the drag and drop. keep thinking about that kind of stuff.
I am not fan of shareware since it is always better to enjoy free stuff but I think you made a great piece of software and then you can find people with enough money and kindness to reward you for your work

How about a suggestions thread?
There must be quite a few people out there who, like me, would like to buy Mailplane but find that it is missing one vital feature available plain old Gmail + Greasemonkey.
Posted by Ruben Bakker (01/06 at 09:03 PM)
Hi Donnacha,
Suggestion thread: The Google Group is a good place - http://groups.google.com/group/mailplaneapp
Gmail & Greasemonkey: Check out GreaseKit http://8-p.info/greasekit/ - it works with Mailplane. The original Firefox scripts need some tweaking, though.

Merry Christmas as well! Thank you for making such a wonderful piece of software. I have already bought my copy but I just wanted to tell you that Mailplane is by far my favorite application on my Mac.
Thanks!
