NEW: Support for iWork/Send via Mail

skitched-20100311-111727.png

Mailplane now supports the Share > Send via Mail menu items. Depending which app you use (Numbers, Pages, Keynote), you can send your document as a Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, or as native format. As a result, Mailplane will compose a new message and attach the document to it.

NEW: Load "Rapportive" Gmail plugin

Load "Rapportive" Gmail plugin to replace ads with contact information. You can enable the plugin per account. Open Preferences > Accounts > Advanced to change the setting.

I like the iWork Share feature, however, the feature takes me to Apple Mail, not Mailplane. How do I redirect it?

@Bill: Please go to Maiplane Preferences and select the “Advanced” tab. Make sure Mailplane is your default email client

@Uri: After activating the plugin you should see the “Rapportive loaded” text on the left of you email address (top of main window). Then open a conversation and click the “Log in to Rapportive” on the right of the messages.

@Peter: I am glad you like it.

Hi Marco,

Unfortunately, not all translations have been updated for 2.1.6.
The preference is only visible in these languages: English, Chinese, French, German, Norwegian, Romanian, and Russian.

Workaround: Switch to English set the preference and switch back to your language: http://mailplaneapp.com/howto/entry/change_mailplanes_language/

Hi Marco,

Please make sure to restart Mailplane after your change the language. Then go to Preferences > Accounts > Advanced (not Preference > Advanced).

This is awesome.  Thank you for creating one of the apps I spend the most time in, and the most time telling other people about.

I’ve just switched to Office 2008 on my Mac and can’t send documents as attachments from it like I could with Pages.

I’ve got Mailplane set as default but Office 2008 doesn’t seem to recognise it. Is there a plugin or work around available?

Posted by Ruben  (08/27  at  04:53 PM)

Hi Kelly,

Yes, there’s a solution. Check out this how-to article..

Hope it helps.

Thanks Ruben,

I realised after posting this that I could still email pdf’s without a hitch. I just need to get to grips with automator (haven’t used it yet), but I’m sure I’ll work it.

Thanks again
