I am in the trial phase of mailplane and just wanted to report that it seems there is a memory leak.  It was using 670MB of real memory until I just quit it.  I googled and saw another comment a few months ago on the subject regarding account switching.  I also do that numerous times a day.  Any progress on a solution?

Thanks!

Hi Nick,

Thanks for trying Mailplane. I am not able to duplicate the problem on my Macs. However, a couple of users are affected and after some testing it seems the memory usage is caused by some extension/inputmanager or webplugin. I am currently searching for the culprit. If you like more details or would like to test a preview version, let me know by email (ruben AT mailplaneapp.com).

Thanks.

Hey Ruben,

Any news on this? I am in the same situation, using 2.1.9(1354), memory usage seems high for my poor little macbook, currently >230Mb when it’s just running in the background.

Hi Luke,

It looks like some extension (lInputManager etc) is causing a memory leak. The latest preview version (http://mailplaneapp.com/download/preview/) contains some preferences to disable InputManagers, Web Plugins, and Flash. I’ll contact you by email to give you the details.

Google is experimenting a multiple sign-in feature! It seems to me that this can radically affect switching between accounts in Mailplane, which would be great news for me because switching implies reload, and reload on a slow connection often fails.

I am currently testing the new Google feature… it could mean an improvement for a future release.
