New Google Talk window
Saturday, April 28, 2007

Since last update, Mailplane includes a Google Talk window for an easy chat. Never miss a call again: If somebody wants to talk, Mailplane shows a Growl notification. The brand-new Google Talk Gadget (displayed inside the window) offers some nice features like video and photo preview. See the this blog for more information.
Currently the Google Talk window works with "normal" Google accounts. Support for "Google Apps for your Domain" accounts will be added as soon as the Gadget is ready for it.

Pity I have just redirected my domains email at Google Apps… Waiting patiently for update to Mailplane that supports Google Apps for your Domain accounts…

I love Mailplane app and also new future Google Talk. The problem i am experiencing with this new future is the following. It doesn’t correctly uses my Central European Slovenian QWERTZ keyboard and this happens only in this new Google Talk window and nowhere else. In original Mailplane window everything works ok.
I tried it on latest official release and latest beta 2.1.
I hope you will fix this as this really is one of my fav new futures.
Thanks!

Hi Sasa,
The separate Google Talk window uses Google’s Talk widget, which is based on Flash. Unfortunately, I cannot change it’s code and problems. I suggest you use the much better integrated Gmail chat in the sidebar.
Hope this helps.
Best,
Ruben

Hi,
I like this new GTalk feature integrated right into the app, its faster and smoother and as all safari users would know this is not possible otherwise on gmail through safari. This with all the other feature of mailplane make it a definite buy for me once it comes out of beta.
Gr8 app. Congrats!!!
