Mailplane 2: Bad Request Error

You might get an ‘Unknown error: BadRequest’ message if trying to sign in to your Gmail account via Mailplane 2. It is happening because Google removed support for a service which Mailplane 2 is still relying on.

We know that this is a worst case szenario for a lot of long term customers and we’ll look into it despite the fact that we don’t officially support Mailplane 2 anymore.

But keep in mind as Google and Apple stop supporting certain things on their end, we begin to lose functionality. If it’s not fixable, it could end up being the end of Mailplane 2. Hopefully that’s not the case, but we can’t make any promises at the moment.

We’re not trying to force anyone to upgrade, but for the moment our only suggestion is to give Mailplane 3 a try. If you like, you can get it here.

UPDATE June 14: We published an update which fixes that problem. Go to “Mailplane > Check for Updates…” or download it here.
