Use Google Apps accounts with ‘two-factor’ authentication
Mailplane can be used with the new and more secure 'two-factor' authentication.
After converting your account to the more secure Google 'two-factor' authentication scheme, Mailplane cannot access Gmail with your regular Gmail password.
To solve the problem, you need to issue an access code and enter instead of your password.
How to issue an access token
- Go to your Authorized Access to your Google Account page:
https://www.google.com/a/your_domain/IssuedAuthSubTokens. Be sure to replace "your_domain" with your actual domain name. - Enter your password, if prompted.
- On your Authorized Access to your account page, provide a descriptive name for your access code, such as "Mailplane - Business iMac". (This lets you remember which application it's for, in case you later need to revoke it).
- Click Generate Access Code.
- Copy the access code to the clipboard
How to enter the access token

- Paste the access code from above into the "Password" field
- Press the "Login" button.
If you enabled "Store password in keychain," Mailplane will automatically use the access token and use it whenever you access your Google Apps account.
Important: When Gmail requests a login, you have to manually enter your 'normal' Gmail password instead of the access token.
