Known Issues

Mailplane 2.1

  • Safari crashes when clicking a link inside Mailplane.

Workaround: Start Safari before clicking the link.

Solution: Download and install the preview version. The same fix will be released with the next stable update.

  • Drag and drop of the following file types has no effect: mailloc, mailtoloc, and webloc

This feature will be enabled with a future release.

  • Context menu doesn’t show spell checking entries.

Solution: Upgrade to Mailplane 2.1.10. Use the Mailplane > Check for update menu item or download from the website.

  • Text cursor doesn’t blink in search/to/cc/bcc input fields w/ possible freezes

Solution: Upgrade to Mailplane 2.1.10. Use the Mailplane > Check for update menu item or download from the website.

  • Mailplane opens Google Calendar instead of inbox

I'm currently investigating this problem. Solution: Use the Mailplane > Reset Gmail Session to create a new session. Here's a workaround in case this doesn't help: Open Safari and load gmail.com. Turn off the Google Calendar lab feature in Gmail > Settings > Labs and restart Mailplane after saving the settings in Safari.

  • Mailplane License doesn’t validate

The problem can be caused by some "Application Enhancer" haxies. Solution: Uninstall Application Enhancer or disable the faulty haxie.

  • “Offline Gmail” doesn’t work on Snow Leopard

The current Google Gears version isn't compatible with Snow Leopard. There are currently two solutions:

    Solution 1: Try the workaround.

    Solution 2: Uninstall Google Gears:

    1. Quit Safari and Mailplane
    2. In Finder, open your Applications folder.
    3. Open the folder named Utilities.
    4. Open Terminal.
    5. In Terminal, enter the following command (including the quotes): '/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Gears.plugin/Contents/Resources/uninstall.command'
    6. Press Enter.
    7. Enter your password when prompted.

Next step: Please watch http://gears.google.com for the Google Gears version and re-install as it becomes available.

  • Gmail shows “Loading” or “Still Working” infinitely
The "Send & Archive" lab feature currently doesn't work with Offline Gmail. Disable one or the other (The issue can be duplicated in Safari). Workaround: Command click the "Sign out" link. Finally login again.
  • Toolbar buttons/menu items don’t work.
Solution: Open your Gmail settings and enable keyboard shortcuts.
